ACWORTH, Ga. - Police on Wednesday charged a 21-year-old man with murder, a day after eight people were shot dead at three Asian spas in and around Atlanta in a killing spree that sharply amplified fears among Asian Americans over a nationwide surge in hate crimes and bigoted rhetoric.
Authorities said Robert Aaron Long had confessed to the killings and had told investigators he had a sexual addiction. Long indicated he may have frequented the spas in the past, police said, and that they were a temptation for him that he wanted to eliminate. ....

Whenever we are entertaining people who are not from our area, one of our favorite places to take them is the Museum at Bethel Woods. The history of the venue and the vibe of the museum make it the perfect place for music lovers of all generations. We older people can reminisce and the youngsters can learn. After all, we are talking about the site of the 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair.
The Museum will be opening its doors for the season on Saturday, April 3, and they’ve got a very cool exhibit planned to kick off the season. The exhibit is called Lights, Color, Fashion: Psychedelic Posters and Patterns of 1960s San Francisco. Complete with black lights and a light show, just like in the 60s. Think Grateful Dead, Haight-Ashbury, Jefferson Airplane. You know, the good old days. ....

Several towns across Connecticut are experiencing power outages due to high winds that blew between Friday night and Saturday morning.
Among the hardest-hit towns were Harwinton with about 298 outages, Middletown with 290, Newtown with 187 and Litchfield with 185. Woodstock and Weston have also reported over 100 outages as of 7:43 a.m. Saturday morning and there are other, smaller clusters of outages scattered around the state.
An Eversource outage map reported 1,530 outages statewide as of 8:30 Saturday morning.
Harwinton First Selectman Michael Criss said the town received wind gusts of up to 50 miles per hour, the heaviest ones striking between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. Saturday morning. The majority of outages have been traced back to Route 4, which a portion of is currently closed off as Eversource crews work to fix a downed power line.
