The prospect turned out to be lucrative enough to dispel rumours around vaccination among villagers of an administrative circle in Arunachal Pradesh, as over 80 of them turned up on foot for the inoculation within days of the announcement of the sop.
The brainchild of Circle Officer Tashi Wangchuk Thongdok of Yazali in Lower Subansiri district, the offer of free rice for those getting vaccinated in the 45-plus age group was launched on Monday and is valid till Wednesday.
Dibrugarh University to Hold UG/PG Examinations In Offline Mode

Assam- In spite of the novel coronavirus take an upward spiral in the state of Assam, Dibrugarh University has announced that it would conduct the undergraduate and postgraduate examinations in an offline mode.
Both regional and distant courses will have to undertake the offline mode of examinations for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
This decision to conduct the examinations in offline mode was announced after an official notification was signed by the controller of the examination in charge of Dibrugarh University Mr. A Baruah.

New Delhi: In the 4th edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi interacted with students, teachers and parents in virtual mode today. The interaction, which lasted more than ninety minutes, saw students, teachers and parents seeking guidance on various issues of importance to them from the Prime Minister. This year too, students from across the country, and also Indian students residing abroad, participated in the event.
Terming this year’s interaction as first virtual edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha, the Prime Minister said that Corona has led to many innovations and despite the disappointment of not being able to be among the students face to face, there should not be a break in Pariksha Pe Charcha this year. He said that Pariksha Pe Charcha is not only a discussion on examination but also an occasion to talk, among family members and friends, in a relaxed atmosphere and create new confidence.

GUWAHATI: A three-day State-Level Master Resource Persons Workshop on Basic Observational Astronomy kicked off from February 12 at Guwahati Planetarium.
In the joint programme of Guwahati Planetarium and Pragjyotish Amateur Astronomers Association volunteers of 32 districts participated in the workshop. The workshop includes interactive training sessions followed by telescope handling and night sky observation.
