Popular destination spots in Guwahati closed to ward off COVID
Following the spike in COVID-19 cases here and its suburbs, all the popular and also tourist-destination spots in the ‘Gateway to the Northeast’ are presently closed.

GUWAHATI: Following the spike in COVID-19 cases here and its suburbs, all the popular and also tourist-destination spots in the Gateway to the Northeast are presently closed. These include the Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Regional Science Centre, Guwahati Planetarium, State Zoo & Botanical Garden, Assam State Museum, and the Rabindra Bhawan among others.
Meanwhile only 50 per cent of the employees are attending the offices at these places.

GUWAHATI: A three-day State-Level Master Resource Persons Workshop on Basic Observational Astronomy kicked off from February 12 at Guwahati Planetarium.
In the joint programme of Guwahati Planetarium and Pragjyotish Amateur Astronomers Association volunteers of 32 districts participated in the workshop. The workshop includes interactive training sessions followed by telescope handling and night sky observation.
Major Accident in Latasil, Guwahati
In the incident, three vehicles- a Tata DI van, an ultra bus and a car was severely damaged along with public properties after the bus went off the road.

GUWAHATI: In an unfortunate incident, a major accident occurred in the Latasil area in Guwahati on January 23.
According to reports, a Di pick-up van rammed into an ultra bus which later smatched into a shop overcrossing the railings.
Speaking to Sentinel, Munim Choudhary from Latasil Police Station said, The incident occurred at around 7:30 AM in the morning.
According to the Sub-Inspector, the ultra bus was travelling on the road in front of the Latasil police station when a pick-up van from the Guwahati Planetarium side transporting cows hit the bus from behind.
