Judge Anne Thompson on Monday denied nearly all of the motions to dismiss Gustavo Martinez Contreras lawsuit against Monmouth County, the municipalities of Asbury Park and Belmar, and the police officers who tackled, arrested and observed his arrest while covering the Asbury Park protest on June 1. Martinez Contreras lawsuit alleges that Asbury Park police officers William Whitley and Daniel Savastano violated his First Amendment and Fourth Amendment rights during his unlawful arrest, false imprisonment and excessive force, according to the complaint. ....
