APP reporter lawsuit over Black Lives Matter arrest can proceed: Judge

Asbury Park Press TRENTON - The civil rights lawsuit filed by an Asbury Park Press reporter tackled and arrested while covering a Black Lives Matter protest in Asbury Park last summer can proceed to a potential trial, a federal judge has ruled.  Judge Anne Thompson on Monday denied nearly all of the motions to dismiss Gustavo Martinez Contreras  lawsuit against Monmouth County, the municipalities of Asbury Park and Belmar, and the police officers who tackled, arrested and observed his arrest while covering the Asbury Park protest on June 1. Martinez Contreras  lawsuit alleges that Asbury Park police officers William Whitley and Daniel Savastano violated his First Amendment and Fourth Amendment rights during his unlawful arrest, false imprisonment and excessive force, according to the complaint.

Fact check: US law allows employers to mandate COVID-19 vaccines

The claim: Companies mandating COVID-19 vaccines violates federal law On Dec. 22, Chipotle Mexican Grill CEO Brian Niccol told CNBC that the company will “strongly encourage” but not require its employees to receive the coronavirus vaccine. As of right now, we’re not going to mandate it,” he said. He also said that the company will cover costs associated with the vaccine for employees who choose to receive it. Some people  like the account Freedom Angels  took to Instagram to laud Chipotle for its choice and claim that mandating vaccines violates federal law. Hell ya! Great to see a company choosing to NOT violate ADA, OSHA & Title 7 of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 rights of employees. It is an inalienable human right to NOT be coerced or forced to take a V, the post states.
