Grand jury returns 43 indictments in January 2021 term

LOGAN — Forty-three felony indictments were returned in Logan County Circuit Court by the grand jury on Jan. 14, 2021. The list was released by Logan County Prosecuting Attorney David Wandling. Five individuals listed have two separate indictments. One of them is Paul David Wiley Jr., 27, who was charged with arson after he admitted to setting the Fox Apartments fire on Stratton Street in Logan on Nov. 8, 2019. Three additional names were listed on the docket, but were not part of the January 2021 grand jury term, which was assigned to Logan County Circuit Judge Eric O’Briant. As such, they are not listed as part of this publication.

Bridgeman Sets Another Clemson Record Clemson, SC – Jacob Bridgeman had another record-breaking day for the Clemson golf team, but the Tigers dropped from first place to a tie for second as a team at the Camp Creek Seminole Invitational at Camp Creek Golf Club in Watersound, Fla. Clemson is in a tie for second place, at 12-under –par 564 after 36 holes, tied with host school Florida State. Wake Forest has a two-shot lead over the Tigers and Seminoles with a 562 total. Duke is fourth at 569 strokes, while North Carolina is fifth in the 10-team All-ACC field with a 576 score. Bridgeman shot a second-round 66 after his opening 64 that was the lowest first round of a season in school history. His 14-under-par score of 130 is the best score vs. par in Clemson history for the first two rounds of any tournament. The previous record was -11 held by teammate Turk Pettit at the Maui Jim Invitational last year, and by Doc Redman, who was -11 through two rounds at The Jackrabbit in  2016

Clemson Opens Season at Camp Creek Seminole Invitational Clemson, S.C. Clemson will open its men’s golf season on Sunday, Jan. 17 at the Camp Creek Seminole Invitational at Camp Creek Golf Club in Watersound, Fla. The tournament host will be Florida State and the 10 teams competing are all from the Atlantic Coast Conference. This will be the latest opening to a Clemson season since the 1983-84 academic year, the last year the program did not compete in the fall.  The fall schedule this year was suspended by the Atlantic Coast Conference due to COVID19. However, it is the earliest beginning to the spring portion of the schedule on record, and the first time Clemson has played a tournament in the month of January since 2010.
