Nimisha's 100km run to help the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust


A TEENAGER passionate about the environment is doing a 100km run to support the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust after its difficult year.
Nimisha Pant has just finished studying her A levels at The Ridgeway including politics with a module highlighting environmental concerns, which sparked her interest.
She wants to raise money for the charity that plays a big part in her life and to help wildlife.
She said: “I want to create more awareness of the trust as they’re important on a local level.
“We must be head-on at levelling our carbon emissions.
“The work the volunteers have done has been amazing and I visit the different reserves they manage.” ....

Campaign group aims to save the views


ENVIRONMENTALISTS have launched a last push ‘Views We’ll Lose’ as part of their campaign to stop a Warminster housing development being built.
The group, Sustainable Warminster, say that plans to put 28 new homes on land at Damask Way will blight the nearby Smallbrook Nature Reserve and sites of outstanding natural beauty.
Iain Perkins, of Sustainable Warminster, said: “The high point of Damask Way has been enjoyed by the people of Warminster for centuries.
“It looks out onto the veteran woodland of Southleigh and Eastleigh Woods that has been part of our historic landscape that now sits within the The Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. ....
