Shots fired at Clark County fairgrounds, two people injured LEX 18 and last updated 2021-06-29 23:10:27-04 WINCHESTER, Ky. (LEX 18) — Shots were reportedly fired at the Clark County Fair Tuesday night. According to the Winchester Sun, Clark County Sheriff Berl Perdue says one person was shot and has non-life-threatening injuries to their lower leg. Perdue also reported another person suffered a superficial wound to the knee area. The suspects are unknown at this time according to Perdue. Winchester names Alessandra Pejrolo as 2021 Project 351 ambassador

Want more Winchester Sun news? Subscribe here. Every year in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, 351 middle school students are chosen among the 351 municipalities to take part in Project 351. Started in 2011, Project 351 is an independent nonprofit organization that engages eighth-grade ambassadors in a 12-month program of service learning and leadership. The 2021 ambassador from Winchester is Alessandra Pejrolo. Anne Marie Edenhofner, the district s service learning coordinator, will work with Alessandra on her Project 351 project.  The Winchester Star recently caught up with Alessandra to discuss her vision as a Project 351 ambassador. 88, lifelong animal lover wrote newspaper columns for 30+ years Gloria Jean Brody, Jean, was born in Brunswick, Ga. on Dec. 7, 1931, to Luby and Marion Peters. She was the oldest of three children. Jean was raised in several places in Georgia and Florida. She attended Washington University in St. Louis, Mo. Jean raised her four children, Clarke, Marion, Phoebe and Katy in Delray Beach, Fla. and St. Louis. Later in life she earned her teaching degree from Fontbonne College. She taught English at Layfette High School in Chesterfield, Mo. One of the highlights of her life was working for Missouri Youth for Environmental Quality and then raising wolves and other wild animals. It was from this work she developed a lifelong love and passion for animals both domestic and wild.
