Gunmen on Saturday night abducted a 13-year-old boy, Gbolahan Ajibola, in Obada-Oko in Ewekoro Local Government area of Ogun state. In a related development, a Catholic priest, Rev Fr. Izu Marcell, has also been reportedly kidnapped by suspected herdsmen in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State. The gunmen, who struck around 9pm in Ogun State were said to have swooped on Ajibola’s family as they were about to enter their house within Destiny Estate in Obada-Oko. The attackers, who hid in a bush near the house, pounced on the family when Ajibola alighted from the car to open the gate. ....
A 13 year-old-boy, Gbolahan Ajibola who was abducted by gunmen in Ogun state has regained his freedom. The Ogun State Police Command confirmed the release of the 13-year-old boy via a statement issued on Tuesday by its spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, adding that the victim has since been reunited with his family members. It was gathered that the gunmen about six in number laid ambush on Ajibola’s family as they were returning to their house on Saturday night. The victim, his mother and grandmother were returning from their shop after attending the Redeem Christian Church of God programme where the General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye had ministered when the gunmen came calling. ....
Daily Post Nigeria Published Solomon Eremi, NSCDC Public Relations Officer, confirmed the discovery to the News Agency of Nigeria Eremi said the stench attracted the attention of passersby who traced the location of the valley and raised alarm. The spokesman said a Disaster Management and Recovery was dispatched to the area. “They went around the entire place and saw eight decomposed corpses made up of a female and seven males. One was still very fresh. “We can not really tell what happened, whether they killed them and dumped them there.” The Corps said an investigation has commenced and would update the public. ....
