However, the kidnappers were confronted by some youths at Ohekelem village who informed the police. Police Public Relations Officer, SP Orlando Ikeokwu, who confirmed the story, said that the case was reported to the station by the child’s grandparents. According to him, Chinenye Anyanwu and his wife, Patience, who hail from Lorji in Mbaise, had reported that their grandson was kidnapped on his way to school. “But they had their luck run out when some youths of Ohekelem suspected what they were carrying in a sack. “When confronted, they abandoned the bag and ran into the bush,” he said.
