On a breezy Friday at precisely 4:20 p.m., I stepped out of my house in the Lower Haight with a Bluetooth speaker in my hand and pressed play on the Grateful Dead’s live album “Skull & Roses.” I pumped the volume to a definitely-obnoxious level and strolled all the way up Haight. Everyone I passed looked away nervously, except a loiterer in a tie-dyed shirt at the corner of Haight and Ashbury, who gave me the slightest of nods. There’s maybe nothing more emblematic of San Francisco than the Victorian home. Without these historic structures, delighting everyone from tourists to longtime residents, would the city still feel the same?
For Skeeter Jones, a craftsman focused on restoring the fronts of these famous structures, his whole job is ensuring that Victorian homes remain the architectural and historical fixture of the city. From restoring original, lost details to reconstructing what disappeared in a stucco transformation, Jones may be the only person in the city that does exactly what he does, approaching facade restoration like an artist approaches a canvas. ....

WACO, TX â The City of Waco has officially named Dr. Sheryl Victorian as the next Waco Chief of Police.
Chief Victorian begins her appointment on March 15th.
She is Wacoâs first female and first Black police chief, the City of Waco said.
Victorian served for 27 years in the Houston Police Department, rising to the rank of Assistant Chief.
âThe search for a new chief took five months and included 43 applications from candidates in 17 states,â said City Manager Bradley Ford after recommending Victorian. âSherylâs depth of hands-on management experience, her educational background and her support for innovative programs all stood out.â Ford adds, âSheryl shared our communityâs vision for a leader who embraces continuous improvement, community policing and a commitment to serving and ....

Reedus will executive produce the project along with bigbaldhead’s JoAnne Colona and Amanda Verdon under the company’s recently announced first-look deal with AMC Studios.

According to an individual with knowledge of the project, the team has been pursuing the rights to “Neglected Murderesses” for several years. It marks the first time the Edward Gorey Estate has allowed for an adaptation of the late author’s work. Furthermore, the Edward Gorey Charitable Trust has pledged that all profits earned from the series will be donated to a number of animal welfare organizations, given Gorey’s fondness for animals. The organizations include The Elephant Sanctuary, The International Fund for Animal Welfare, The National Marine Life Center, and many more. ....

An exposure site is a location a person who has tested positive to COVID-19 visited while they were potentially infectious . These locations are generally identified through contact tracing, where the person provides a detailed history of their contacts and places they visited up to three days before they developed symptoms (or tested positive, if they didn t have any symptoms).
