A teenage boy has been charged after another boy was allegedly stabbed at a Woolworths supermarket in Melbourne s north last week. Police attended the Woolworths store at Broadmeadows Central following reports of a brawl involving up to 15 youths on July 15 about 6.20pm. The 16-year-old boy collapsed in the supermarket after being allegedly stabbed in the upper body. He was rushed to The Alfred hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police have since patrolled the shopping centre after the alleged stabbing.(Nine) A 16-year-old boy has now been charged with intentionally causing serious injury in circumstances of gross violence and affray. He is expected to face a children s court today. ....

The two local cases were close household contacts of a previously confirmed case linked to the Holiday Inn Melbourne Airport outbreak, bringing the total number to 19. They were detected from 23,950 test results processed on Monday. All active cases of the virus detected in the community so far have been linked back to the outbreak, which began with a family of three returned travellers staying at the airport hotel. ....
