Date Time Melbourne Symphony rocks Wyndham Wyndham City is in discussions with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for its return to Wyndham Park following the success of last Friday’s Summer Series event. More than 900 people attended the sold-out event and a further 2000 people viewed the event via live stream. The Summer Series event was the first of the MSO’s free outdoor concert series. Spectators were enthralled by the MSO’s world-class musicians who performed excerpts and short works from much-loved music, including renowned pieces by Mozart and Beethoven, plus contemporary classics. Children were entertained earlier in the day with a music workshop which included a 30-minute performance with music from the Nutcracker. ....
Executive Appointments at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts in Asia Pacific (18 Jan 2021) Wyndham has appointed Matt Holmes as Head of Development for South East Asia & Pacific Rim (SEAPR) and Eudo Chan as Director of Development - SEAPR. Based in Gold Coast, Australia, Matt Holmes will lead a team of developers to drive the growth strategy for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts through the expansion of its managed and franchised hotels portfolio across the SEAPR sub-region. Date Time MADE on Watton to open its doors next week A new pop-up retail space in the heart of the Werribee City Centre will give a leg up to the local makers, artists and designers hit hard by COVID-19. From 21st January, the MADE on Watton pilot project will transform a vacant tenancy at 90 Watton Street into a curated, market-style experience featuring original, high-quality handmade textiles, stationery, ceramics, homewares and jewellery. The pop-up shop, which will run each Thursday to Sunday over the next three months, will have a rotating line-up of stallholders to keep the offering fresh and exciting. ....
Heart Foundation Cultural dance workshops for people with vision loss; an “exercise bingo” game for over-65s; skateboarding and scooting workshops for youth in a remote town; and a group exercise program for carers of people with Parkinson’s Disease. These are all winning projects in the 2020 Active Australia Innovation Challenge, the Heart Foundation announced today. This was the third challenge run by the Heart Foundation, with 306 entries received from across Australia. The challenge invited tertiary institutions, schools, councils and other organisations to submit innovative ideas for getting people moving. The winners will each receive a grant of $10,000 to turn their project into a reality. ....
