Friday, April 23 8:02 a.m.: A trash bag was reported causing a hazard in the roadway at Parker Street and Old Marlboro Road. 11:47 a.m.: A caller reported someone riding a dirt bike on the rail trail in the area of Main Street. An officer located the youth in the area of Maynard Pizza House and confirmed it was a child on an electric bike with his father. No other issues were found. ....

That is the idea behind an $80,000 grant the towns of Maynard and Acton received from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, which provides technical assistance to help create a redevelopment strategy for the area. Powder Mill Road is about 1.5 miles and extends from Waltham Street in Maynard to High Street in Acton. Zoning is haphazard and includes seven zoning districts. Acton’s portion of the study area is zoned as the Powder Mill Zoning District. Maynard’s portion of the study area includes a Business, a Downtown Mixed-Use Overlay, an Industrial, a Single-Residence a General Residence and a Garden Apartment District. ....

Tuesday, Feb. 16 11:44 a.m. A resident reported that he was scammed into thinking he had won $2.5 million through Publisher s Clearing House. He gave an unknown person on the phone his bank information. A day later, he found that $60,000 had been withdrawn from his account. 2:05 p.m. A resident reported that he fell victim to a telephone scam. A courier was sent to the residents house, and the resident gave roughly $27,000 to the courier. Police learned that the scam involved telling the resident that a family member was in jail following a traffic accident. The resident was contacted over the phone initially, before the courier was sent. Police have seen similar incidents in recent da ....
