Supporters of two Saskatchewan men Ali Syed and Christian Dela Cruz are reaching out to ask for financial help for their families after COVID-19 hit them hard.
Syed’s family has experienced the best and worst life has to offer in a short span of time.

They recently welcomed a new daughter and on Monday, they said goodbye to Syed at a funeral and burial for the father of three after losing him to the virus on Sunday.
Syed, a SaskPower employee working at Boundary Dam Power Station, came down with COVID-19 in late March, according to a GoFundMe page organized by Preston Benning on April 2. ....

So after battling COVID-19 herself, Roshelle drove to the Regina General Hospital on April 20 after their two young daughters and family from Louisiana and Georgia said their goodbyes virtually to hold Warren’s hand one last time.
“I stayed for maybe an hour alone with him,” she said. “I made sure he knew.”
It took 18 days from Warren’s positive COVID-19 diagnosis on Easter to his death on Tuesday morning. ....

COVID-19: Sask. hits 30 per cent of population vaccinated, two deaths

Nearly a third of Saskatchewan residents have now received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine as the province reported 286 new cases and two more deaths Saturday.
With a total of 392,294 doses administered, 30 per cent of the province’s total population has now received their first dose, according to a news release. Of residents ages 40 and up, 56 per cent have had their first shot.

This comes after another 10,159 shots made it into arms on Friday. These new doses were given in the far north west (346), far north east (253), north west (930), north central (859), north east (552), Saskatoon (3,277), central west (458), central east (529), Regina (627), south west (871), south central (233) and south east (908) zones.
