A tenth man has been charged with the murder of Gold Coast bikie Shane Bowden as police promise to smash a code of silence surrounding the investigation. A 26-year-old Bellbird Park man - believed to be a member of the rival Mongols outlaw motorcycle gang - is the latest to be charged over the alleged hit on Mr Bowden in October last year. Earlier today a 37-year-old Wanora man was also charged with murder, which follows the arrest and charging of seven others on Sunday. South-Eastern Police regional crime coordinator Detective Superintendent Brendan Smith said today s action was a significant step towards dismantling alleged organised crime. 7 More Charged Over Bikie Murder in Australia’s Queensland Queensland police have charged a further seven men in relation to the 2020 shooting murder of outlaw motorcycle gang defector Shane Bowden on the Gold Coast, Australia. Detectives from the state’s homicide and gangs squads along with other specialist officers raided a string of properties along the glitter strip on Sunday, making a total of eight arrests. The seven charged with murder will appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday. A 37-year-old Wanora man also taken into custody is accused of unlawful weapons possession and will face Ipswich magistrates Court on July 29. ....
Major update 2: Shane Bowden homicide investigation Police have today charged a further seven men with murder as part of ongoing investigations into the shooting death of 47-year-old Shane Bowden last year. Detectives from the Gold Coast District, Crime and Intelligence Command, including Homicide and the Organised Crime Gangs Group, and other specialised police, executed eight search warrants at Pimpama, Redland Bay, Underwood, Upper Coomera, Helensvale and Wanora in relation to Operation Sierra Arch. The Operation was commenced after Mr Bowden was shot in the driveway of a residence on Cox Road, Pimpama at around 12.10am on Monday, October 12, 2020. Raids carried out by police today culminated in the arrest of eight people. ....
