Police allege that James Winston Mau’u and Junior Jasmine Torope were the gunmen in the Gold Coast gangland execution of bikie Shane Bowden, as detectives investigate further members of motorcycle gangs.
Police arrested eight members of the Mongols bikie gang in weekend raids across six suburbs on Sunday and charged them with murder over the shooting of Bowden in October 2020.
Bowden, a senior member of the Mongols and reportedly the gang’s former national sergeant-at-arms who had defected to the Finks, was sprayed with bullets as he pulled into a driveway of a property on Cox Road in Pimpama. ....

Police have charged seven more men with murder over the shooting death of Gold Coast bikie Shane Bowden in 2020.
Detectives executed eight search warrants across the Gold Coast, Logan and Redland Bay, as part of an operation launched following Mr Bowden s death.
He was shot 21 times in the driveway of his home at Pimpama on the Gold Coast in October.
Just before he was murdered last year, Mr Bowden had re-joined the Finks bikie club. ....

A 37-year-old Wanora man was also arrested and charged with weapon possession.
He will face court on July 29.
South-Eastern Police regional crime coordinator Detective Superintendent Brendan Smith said today s action was a significant step towards dismantling alleged organised crime.
These arrests have decimated a whole chapter of the Mongols OMCG, Detective Superintendent Smith said.

The alleged president of the Brisbane West Chapter of the Mongols outlaw motorcycle gang has been charged with murder after police raided an Ipswich home on Saturday morning.
Police will allege the 46-year-old man “directed and financed” the “execution” of Gold Coast bikie Shane Bowden in the driveway of his Pimpama unit on October 12, 2020.
Mr Bowden was a senior member of the Mongols and reportedly the gang’s former national sergeant-at-arms, who had defected to the rival motorcycle gang – the Finks. ....
