Wadena County back to school supply project applications open
The project provides school supplies for each school age child for students in need. Applications are due by Aug. 18 and are available through Wadena County Human Services and MAHUBE-OTWA Community Action.

Applications are now being accepted for the Back to School Supply project for students in need. Students should attend a Wadena County school district or live in Wadena County.
The Back to School Supply project is a joint effort of Wadena County Human Services, the Wadena County Salvation Army and MAHUBE-OTWA Community Action.

It’s possible that hundreds of people in our region are without work and are feeling overwhelmed about the prospect of getting back into the job market. It’s also very possible that those same people out of work don’t know that they have free access to resources and people that are ready to guide them back into work.
Rural Minnesota Concentrated Employment Program Inc. (RMCEP) is a private non-profit partner to Career Force located in the same building as Wadena County Human Services right here in Wadena. They are just one office of nearly 50 across the state that seek to help job seekers find success.
The box includes dairy, produce, and protein. One box per household.

A Farmers to Families food box event is coming to Wadena.

Wadena County Human Services has partnered with Farmers to Families to bring free food to the Wadena community and surrounding area from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 17. The event can end earlier if all boxes are gone. People are asked to not arrive early.
This food box distribution is open to all. No income requirements. You are asked to remain in your vehicle as this is a drive-thru event.
Man sentenced for threats to doctor at Essentia St. Mary s
Earlier that evening, he had threatened to kill the doctor, and threatened to kill him again when he had him by the throat, according to the criminal complaint.

Nicholas John Endriss, 24, of Hackensack, has been sentenced in Becker County District Court on a felony charge of making violent threats.
According to court records, on July 15, law enforcement was called to Essentia Health St. Mary’s hospital to help with Endriss, who had grabbed a doctor by the neck and tried to take him to the floor.
