THE Runcorn Women’s Institute is doing its bit to tackle climate change ahead of Earth Day.
Members have been making changes to their homes in the hope that their efforts will have a positive effect on the planet in anticipation of the international awareness day on April 22.
And they are encouraging others to do the same.
Public affairs liaison Sue Bentley said: “Sir David Attenborough has said that the United Nations’ upcoming climate summit could be the last opportunity to make the necessary changes to save the planet.
“We know that change has to happen now, and so we have all pledged to do our bit – whether that is hanging the washing out to dry, turning the thermostat down by a degree, walking to the shops, eating a meat-free meal or choosing a green energy supplier. ....
