The West Coast Board Riders’ WHEAT CUP Championship presented by SPORTOFKINGS will go down on the south side of the Huntington Beach Pier starting at 7am on Saturday June 5 th, it was announced today by Darren ‘Brillo’ Brillhart, Commissioner of the West Coast Board Riders. “We’re stoked to bring our top 6 clubs to Huntington to wrap up a challenging 2019/20 season.” said Brillo in making the announcement. “We have surfers of all ages representing their hometowns clubs coming to compete, and to honor our co-founder Casey Wheat at the same time with the WHEAT CUP makes it even better.” Host club Huntington Beach Board Riders will be joined by the top two point-getters in the 3 WCBR regions, including North regional champs Santa Cruz Board Riders and runner-up Ventura Board Riders, Central regional champs Newport Beach Board Riders and runner-up HB Board Riders, with South regional champs San Clemente Board Riders and runner-up Encinitas Board Riders ....

Mar 16, 2021 SPONSOR This year the Surfers’ Hall of Fame will honor local Huntington Beach inspiration Casey Wheat at a special ceremony to take place on Friday, June 4 at 9 a.m. at the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Main Street in Huntington Beach. Wheat was born and raised in Huntington Beach and surfed Northside like no other. Huntington Beach was in his family’s DNA. His great grandfather was one of the original owners of the Golden Bear nightclub and his grandparents owned and operated the snack shack and rental shops that are now Zack’s and Zack’s Too. His father Steve Wheat taught him to surf at a young age. In his senior year at Huntington Beach High, Wheat helped the team win the surfing national championship while inspiring younger surfers with his competitiveness and leadership. ....
