Lobby group AfriForum has laid charges of theft against police officers who allegedly unlawfully confiscated alcohol at Hennie’s Restaurant in Moreleta Park.

Head of the group’s Private Prosecution Unit, Advocate Gerrie Nel, made the announcement at a press conference on Thursday.
“This matter we will not rest on it, we will follow up and we will make sure there are consequences, we will ensure that SAPS investigate.”
Restaurant owner Werner Pretorius and the establishment’s manager Atrayo Nolte detailed how the police alleged that alcohol was served at the restaurant, when in fact it was non-alcoholic drinks served to patrons. ....
