EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The COVID-19 Crisis Response Fund of the Greater Evansville Region has awarded two new rounds off allocations.
The 15th round granted $282,000 to 12 nonprofit agencies and the 16th round granted $347,000 to another 12 organizations.
Officials say a total of 28 organizations applied for these two rounds.
Grants for these two rounds will go toward funding mental health and suicide prevention training, after-school programming, financial literacy classes and transportation services for vulnerable populations.
Money will also go toward underwriting building upgrades, the Delaware courtyard project and upgrades to the Bike Share program.

LACASA Centerâs Nurturing Parenting Program is designed specifically for parents of young children, from newborn to 11 years of age. It focuses on teaching parents about empathy, setting appropriate expectations, and practicing positive discipline. Participants will also learn about power and independence, along with parent and child roles.
The Nurturing Parenting Program is an award-winning, nationally recognized program that traditionally is held in person. Due to social distancing regulations and pandemic restrictions, this summerâs course will be completely virtual.

WARRENTON â Nurturing Parenting Classes are scheduled to begin Tuesday, March 23. Classes are held each Tuesday beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Warren Family Institute Inc., at 427 W. Franklin St. Warrenton.
The Nurturing Parenting Program is a 16-week curriculum designed to increase family communication and provide age appropriate developmental expectations of children.
Parents are encouraged to develop relationships with their children to provide closeness through bonding and attachment. Parents learn to handle feelings and take charge of their own behavior. Practical, effective techniques are taught for handling challenging conflict and the use of proper discipline when necessary.
Classes take place in a supportive and confidential atmosphere. The Nurturing Parenting Program is an evidence-based curriculum supported by Smart Start.
