TRA cracks down on fake tax stamps in Kilimanjaro
THE Tanzania Revenue authority in Kilimanjaro has launched a ten days door to door and shop- to- shop campaign in the region to crackdown on smuggled products with fake Electronic Tax Stamps (ETS).
Speaking at the launching ceremony, acting Senior Manager for Taxpayer Education at TRA headquarters Rose Maendeka said the campaign which is aimed at providing education on tax will go hand in hand with inspecting and pursuing untrusted traders who fake electronic stamps.
“Let me warn traders who smuggle goods into the country evade tax by using fake tax stamps, we will go shop by shop because this is a serious problem in the region,” she said.

Tax awareness educational sessions held in two colleges of Rawalpindi
Islamabad, February 25, 2021 (PPI-OT): In continuation of holding Tax Awareness Educational Sessions in different educational institutes under Directorate of Federal Government Educational Institutions Cantt. Garrison, Ministry of Defense, Federal Board of Revenue held sessions in F.G Degree College for Women, Abid Majeed Road, Rawalpindi and F.G. Quaid-e-Azam College, Chaklala, Rawalpindi separately.

ISLAMABAD: In a bid to implement the first phase of ambitious reform plans, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has abolished/merged three positions of Members and brought down the total numbers from 13 to 10 Members, The News has learnt.
“Yes, we have implemented the first phase of reform plans and slashed down the total numbers of members from 13 to 10 in one go,” the FBR’s spokesman confirmed to The News when contacted for comments on Wednesday.
Top official sources in background discussions confided to this scribe that the FBR abolished/merged three posts of Members, including Human Resource Management (HRM) with Administration, Member Accounting with Audit and Member Strategic Planning Reforms & Statistics (SPR&S) with Reforms. Dr Ishrat Hussain-led Institutional Reforms Committee had recommended slashing down the total strength of Members from 13 to 8 in phases.
