The Worland Warriors were able to finish what they started this season. After a season of unknowns, teams having to postpone, reschedule, and outright cancel games. A season that required mask on fans and unfilled gyms. The Warriors got to prove to the State of Wyoming they were the best. A chance to “Leave No doubt.”
The opening round of the Wyoming 3A Boys State Basketball Championships were held in Casper Wyoming March 10th and 11th. The Warriors came into the Championships as the number one seed from the West Region. They would face the East Regions number 4 seed Wheatland Bulldogs.

The Lady Warriors insure a spot in the Wyoming 3A Girls Basketball State Championship Tournament. Worland started post season with a 13-4 record having won six in a row that included a 36-34 win over a Wyoming top ranked team in the Lander Valley Lady Tigers.
Worland would first take on a Lovell team that the Lady Warriors had already defeated twice in the regular season. 62-25 and 52-23. Ask any coach they will all say beating a team three times in a season is a very tall order.
The opening round of the Wyoming 3A Quad Championships was a elimination game. No matter your regular season record. Failure or success. No game mattered more.
Wyoming Indian Lady Chiefs Win Third Straight Title
This is the Lady Chiefs third straight state basketball championship and the school s fifth all-time.

Wyoming Indian jumped out to a 10-4 lead early in the first quarter. A few players for the team got into some early foul trouble but it did not seem to hinder the team.
The Lady Chiefs started the second quarter quick on a 7-0 run. The score at halftime was 24-14 favoring the Lady Chiefs.
Wyoming Indian was in control for all of the second half. The team held a 15-point lead for their biggest lead.

With Covid restrictions being lifted to seat 500 spectators it made for a playoff type atmosphere. In the annual “Play for Hope” game which the Warriors and Lady Warriors wear pink.
Lander would come into Warrior Gymnasium to even the series between these two ranked teams. With Powell, Lander, Lovell, and Worland all in the Northwest Quad of the Wyoming 3A Division. Two of those teams won’t make State.
Worland was ranked second for the first time all season. They have been ranked number one all season long. With the loss to Powell Coaches and Media dropped them in the polls.

The Lady Warrior “Playing For Hope” game would be played in front of the largest crowd of the season. Covid restrictions were partially lifted and 500 spectators would be able to attend.
Worland last lost on January 28th in Lander. It would be their largest loss, and least amount of points scored in a game.
Lander would come to Worland with a Conference 3-0 record and 12-2 overall and the number two ranking in Wyoming 3A girls basketball. The Lady Warriors had moved up to 5th with their 5 game win streak.
The Lady Warriors would come out with a 13 point first period with scoring provided by Darla Hernandez and her six points. Denali Jones had four, and Brooke Wright added a three pointer in the first shot of the game.
