Tuesday, June 22, 2021 - 5:29 pm SeaComm recently presented a $5,000 check to the Police Activities League (PAL) of Massena. The donation was used to support the annual Charity Golf Tournament, which was held at The River Course at Louisville Landing on June 11. The tournament raised more than $15,000 for the Massena based organization, and the proceeds will help to promote positive interactions and relationships between community youth and law enforcement officers through fun and engaging programs. NCNow photo BY CHERYL SHUMWAY North Country This Week LOUISVILLE – Golfers and golf carts are already on the course at River Course at Louisville Landing Recreation, formerly the Massena Country Club. A “soft opening” started April 9. Opening weekend “was a crazy, busy weekend with carts out already, because of the unusually dry weather for April,” said general manager Perry French. The municipal golf course is now owned by the Town of Louisville and open to the public. “People are ready to get out of the house this year,” said French. “We are seeing a lot of junior players. It was fun to see 56 junior golfers and 9 college students the first weekend. There were players with season passes, an there were many others out on the course. No membership is needed, ....
