A Perth woman who stole nearly $22,000 from a dying elderly friend to fund her gambling addiction has narrowly avoided jail.
Thi-My-An Pham, known to friends as Anne, met Stanley Mitchell through her florist business about seven years before his death in 2020, and the pair struck up a friendship which evolved into Pham assuming a carer’s role.

The 42-year-old was entrusted with Mr Mitchell’s bank cards in 2019 to help him with his shopping and other errands she carried out on his behalf.
