Neil Tague Plans have been lodged for a 190-bed hotel in Liverpool city centre, to occupy a surface car park site between Duke Street and Parr Street. The scheme has been designed by Tim Groom Architects on behalf of Duke Street Hotel, a vehicle linked to established Liverpool developer Iliad Group through directors David Anastasiou and Tim Molloy. The hotel would be operated under an emerging brand called Room 2, which has two sites already, in Hammersmith and Southampton. Taking up space on what is currently a surface car park and a 1950s building previously occupied by Liverpool Media Academy, the proposed scheme would comprise three linked buildings of between five and eight storeys containing 190 hotel rooms. ....
