The council s acting head of transport, Lynette Ellis, said the most disruptive work would be done at the end of November or start of December. “There will be work such as installing traffic light poles, adding street furniture and planting that will continue after that,” she said. Ellis said the upgrade would create a more attractive area for people, safer spaces for pedestrians, and an improved tram journey.
