PULASKI, N.Y. – Linda Tarbox has run The 1880 House bed and breakfast in Pulaski, located along on the banks of the Salmon River, for 32 years.
Catering to anglers looking for a big catch on the river or skiers returning after a day out in the Tug Hill snow, the relationship between the historic Victorian home and the hardworking businesswoman is an unbeatable combination.
“I love people and I love old houses,” Tarbox said. “It was a good business for me.”
She came to Pulaski in Feb. 1988, from Rochester, wanting to escape the city and live in the country.

At an Eton Town Council meeting on January 7 (Thursday), councillors unanimously agreed to make representations via a petition to oppose the ruling Conservatives of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead’s proposal to introduce charges to the free Hayward’s Meadow car park in Eton Wick. As part of the proposed 2021/22 budget, which is subject to public consultation, 12 car parks, including Hayward’s Meadow, are under threat from this. During ward councillor John Bowden’s (Conservative) council update to members, Eton Wick councillor Linda Tarbox warned him the council will face heavy opposition to this plan from many people in the village.
