Runners raise over £3,000 for 5in5 challenge

Over £3,000 was raised for the 5in5 challenge when approximately 50 runners ran in excess of 1,000km over a 24 hour period last weekend.
The event was organised by members of the local running club Carpe Diem and started at 5pm on Friday evening until 5pm on Saturday.
While some runners came and did their part, a minimum of 30minutes running, others took it to what could only be described as the extreme.
Ultramarathoner Lisa Olivera, club member and one of the event organisers, ran 74km in the 24 hours. Running through the night by doing a 10km at 1am or 12km at 6am for example. ....

A 24 hour run to raise funds in support of the upcoming charity event 5 in 5 will take place this weekend.
The 5 in 5 challenge will see Charles Harrison, Adrian Lopez and Kieron Alvarez complete five half Ironmans in five days.
Mr Harrison is a member of the Carpe Diem Running Club and together with his fellow club members Lisa Olivera, Tamara Viagas, Elliot Johnson and Stefan Davis they decided a 24-hour run from 5pm to 5pm would be an ideal way to raise funds for the challenge.
The event is open to all runners on the Rock. ....

Running Club raises £600 for GBC Open day

Over £600 was raised for the GBC Open Day by the Carpe Diem Running Club last weekend following a half marathon challenge and a raffle for dinner for two on the Sunborn Hotel.
