Two set off to climb Kilimanjaro for charity

Simon Morgan and Jock Alan Stevenson left the Rock in the early hours of Thursday morning to make their way to Tanzania, where they will climb Kilimanjaro in aid of the Cancer Relief Centre Gibraltar.

Runners raise over £3,000 for 5in5 challenge

Runners raise over £3,000 for 5in5 challenge

Over £3,000 was raised for the 5in5 challenge when approximately 50 runners ran in excess of 1,000km over a 24 hour period last weekend.
The event was organised by members of the local running club Carpe Diem and started at 5pm on Friday evening until 5pm on Saturday.
While some runners came and did their part, a minimum of 30minutes running, others took it to what could only be described as the extreme.
Ultramarathoner Lisa Olivera, club member and one of the event organisers, ran 74km in the 24 hours. Running through the night by doing a 10km at 1am or 12km at 6am for example. ....

Local athletes set for gruelling '5 in 5' endurance challenge

Three men will undertake an incredible challenge of endurance next month when they aim to complete five half ironmen in five consecutive days.

In doing so they are raising some much needed funds for Cardiac Rehab Centre and the Cancer Relief Cen. ....
