A firestorm has been raging on social media for the last few weeks over whether or not a local resident should be allowed to mow the grass at a municipal park. Jason Reynolds, the organizer of a flag football league, was sent a trespassing notice from the Civic Centre after two years of being asked to stop cutting the grass at Lark Park in Chatham. The issue was front and centre at last night’s municipal council meeting, and Mayor Darrin Canniff says of the 103 other groups using parks throughout the municipality, none have individual residents mowing the lawn. ....

December 13, 2020 at 5:39 pm by Holly Rusch Following a $2.7 billion budget loss as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the UC Board of Regents is looking to recuperate lost funds this upcoming fiscal year, the budget for which was approved at the boardâs Nov. 19 meeting. During their meeting, the UC regents discussed how the UC plans to bridge their financial losses in the upcoming 2021-22 budget, along with their five-year plan to help students facing food and housing insecurity. Courtesy of the UC Board of Regents At the meeting, the Regents also approved the UCâs special needs report, a five-year plan to address economic inequity among its student body, created by the Board of Regentsâ Special Committee on Basic Needs. ....
