DuBois softball drops two games in double-header matchup

DUBOIS, Pa. Penn State DuBois Softball headed into Tuesday’s double-header matchup against Penn State Brandywine in 1st place in the PSUAC East. Tough losses were realized, however, with Brandywine taking the win in both games, 9-5 and 7-0.
Coach Jason Kern called on USCAA National Pitcher of the Week, Lizzy Scott (Morrisdale, Pennsylvania) to start game 1 in the circle for DuBois.
Brandywine scored a quick 2 runs in the top of the 1st, but then Scott and her defense tightened up, and held the opposition scoreless for the next 4 innings.

After splitting two series this past weekend the Penn State DuBois softball team was ready for a sweep of their next opponent. As they hosted Penn State Scranton in a Penn State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) double-header on Tuesday night, that s exactly what they were able to pull off.

DuBOIS, Pa - Athletes have sacrificed the opportunity to participate in their sport, yet they’ve remained dedicated to their training and to their academic success. Penn State DuBois student-athletes are no different and have continued to work overtime to achieve their goals amid COVID restrictions.

Larissa, of Warrenton West Virginia, is seeking degrees in both business and psychology. She is a graduate of Kettle Run High School where she built skills on the softball field that she has brought to Penn State DuBois, where serves as a catcher and plays third base.
