(Inside Science) North Pacific loggerhead sea turtles are extremely sensitive to temperature, which should make it impossible for them to swim through the frigid eastern Pacific Ocean. However, a small number of these turtles defy expectations and somehow make it to the Baja California coast. Until now, researchers had not been able to explain the secret behind this migration mystery, but new findings suggest that rare warm water currents guide them to Baja California.

DENVER, CO Five Colorado lawmakers are among more than 100 across the country now accused of sexual misconduct in the four years since the onset of the national #MeToo reckoning in 2017, according to data collected by The Associated Press.
The state lawmakers are among other politicians, entertainers and business leaders exposed in the social justice movement to end sexual abuse and sexual harassment. The movement began in 2017 when movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, now a convicted sex offender, was accused by more than 80 women of sexual misconduct allegations dating back to the late 1970s.
The agreement also covers family members of the soldiers and airmen.
The agreement is between the Missouri National Guard Association and Columbia College. The Missouri National Guard Association is honored to partner with Columbia College, Larry Crowder, association director, said in a news release. This partnership directly benefits our soldiers, airmen and their families seeking education opportunities at the undergraduate and graduate level. They have a strong history of supporting military personnel and their families.
The college recently dedicated a center for military students and their families on campus. Columbia College also has formed agreements with other entities for reduced tuition rates.

Frontiers in Marine Science provides evidence for intermittent passages of warm water that allow sea turtles to cross otherwise inhospitably cold ocean barriers.
The findings could help inform the design of conservation measures to protect sea turtles and other migratory sea creatures amid climatic changes that are altering their movements.
“For decades, our ability to connect the migratory dots for this endangered species has remained elusive,” says lead author Dana Briscoe, who was a research associate at the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment during the research and now works at the Cawthron Institute, New Zealand’s largest independent marine science organization.
