Curtis Watson case: Hearing set for plea deal of West Tennessee man

A hearing has been set to discuss a plea deal in the case of West Tennessee man Curtis Watson, the man charged with killing a Tennessee Department of Correction administrator and escaping prison in August 2019, according to Lauderdale County District Attorney Mark Davidson.
Watson has been indicted on 15 counts stemming from that incident, including premeditated murder, rape and escape.
It is anticipated that Watson will plead guilty to one or more charges, though Davidson could not comment on this and declined to discuss any details due to legal reasons and the ever-changing manner of such deals.
“I’ve had plea cases like this that just don’t go,” Davidson said. “So I can’t confirm what will happen, but I can confirm that (a hearing) is in place.” ....

Six child predators have been sentenced and put behind bars by Attorney General Lynn Fitch’s Cyber Crime Division. Robert Michael Lundstrom II, 32, pleaded guilty to one count of child exploitation and was sentenced by Lauderdale County Circuit Judge Robert T. “Bo” Bailey to eight years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections. He will be subject to five years post-release supervision and was ordered to pay $3,000 in fees, including $1,000 to the Mississippi Crime Victim’s Compensation Fund and $1,000 to the Mississippi Children’s Trust Fund, as well as all court costs.
