A small plane crashed late Sunday afternoon, Dec. 27 in the Hudson Valley.
The plane went down just short of a runway in Dutchess County at Sky Acres Airport in LaGrange just before 3:30 p.m.
The pilot and single occupant of the Cessna aircraft was able to remove herself from the plane with no injuries, according to authorities.
Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro issued a statement after the crash. We are grateful to all of the first responders assisting this evening in the Town of LaGrange at the site of a small plane crash on Gidley Road, he said, including the New York State Police and the LaGrange Fire Department, who are the lead agencies at the site, as well as mutual aid agencies.

The LaGrange fire chief says the 17-year-old pilot of a plane that crashed at a Dutchess County airport on Sunday afternoon walked away unharmed.
She was the only person onboard when authorities say the single-engine Cessna 172 began experiencing engine failure before crashing in the woods.
The aircraft flipped over near Gidley Road just short of Runway 17 at Sky Acres Airport.
Witnesses said they could tell something just was not right. I saw a plane going down beyond the tree line behind my backyard, and then it appear, I saw it trying to ascend again in the distance and then it disappeared, but did not hear anything said Richard Michos.

LAGRANGE, NY A small plane crashed Sunday afternoon in the town of LaGrange in Dutchess County.
According to a statement from Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro, the single occupant of the Cessna aircraft was able to remove herself from the plane.
The 17-year-old pilot was not injured.

Yesterday, December 27, 2020, at approximately 3:20 p.m., the New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks responded to a plane crash in a wooded area in the town of Lagrange.
The crash involved a single engine Cessna airplane that appears to have had engine failure. The plane crashed alongside Gidley Road just a few miles from the Sky Acres Airport. The female pilot was able to get out of the plane and was uninjured in the incident.
The Lagrange Fire Department and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Police also responded to the scene to render aid.
