Bay County Florida city breaks ground on apartments for Tyndall AFB

Called East Bay Flats, the community is slated to be complete by the fall of next year, although sights are set on the summer with pre-leasing starting in the early part of 2022. Pricing for the rental units will be determined later and be listed on the project s website EastBayFlats.com.
The project comes after the city of about 4,300 people pre-Hurricane Michael in 2018 lost a large portion of its population. Mayor Richard Musgrave called the new community a catalyst for additional development for Tyndall.
“This is the largest project the city of Parker has ever seen,” Musgrave said in a news release Monday. “The new East Bay Flats apartments will be the catalyst for additional development on the Tyndall corridor and will be the closest housing to Tyndall that can accommodate both active duty and contractors.” ....

East Bend filling in slowly: Developers believe the delays caused by the pandemic will even out over time

Itâs not the kind of opening R.H. Ledbetter Properties had hoped for at the new East Bend shopping center, but given the nature of 2020, the developers are happy to have four of the new retailers open.
The pandemic has delayed most of the tenants who signed on to the development on the former Kmart site on Hicks Drive. But at this point, everyone who signed up to open in Rome is still committed to the project
âObviously we would have preferred to have opened the whole shopping center at the same time,â said Bob Ledbetter Jr.
Still, the trickle opening this fall, spreading out into 2021, might not be such a bad thing in the long run. ....
