Plans are moving forward for casinos, stores and other business.
Penn National says that casinos in York and Berks counties are expected to be completed by the end of the year. The owners of Park Casino still have their eyes on the Shippensburg area and are moving forward with plans to build the casino on the sight of a former Lowes store.

Three buildings planned for site of Members 1st’s future 172,000-square-foot headquarters

Three small buildings are planned for the site where Members 1st Federal Credit Union is constructing its future 172,000-square-foot headquarters at the Hampden Marketplace shopping center off of Wertzville Road in Hampden Township.
Plans for the outparcels call for a 12,000-square-foot building to house a daycare, which will include outdoor play areas on both sides of the building; a 24,000-square-foot, two-story office building and a one-story 9,000-square-foot office building.
The preliminary and final land development plan for the project was presented in front of the Hampden Township Planning Commission on Thursday night. The commission recommended the plan, which still has to be approved by the township’s commissioners.
Despite pandemic, these new businesses, medical centers and homes are opening in central Pa.

The COVID-19 pandemic might have slowed down business openings and construction but it certainly hasn’t stopped them.
A number of housing developments are planned in Harrisburg, Susquehanna Township, Hampden Township, East Pennsboro Township and throughout the midstate.
And stores including REI Co-op, PaulB Mechanicsburg, Five Below and TJ Maxx are all opening new locations in central Pennsylvania this year.
And three companies have plans to open multiple locations in the region: Shiny Shell CarWash, Xfinity and Pet Supplies Plus.
Other new locations include a childcare center, a hospital, newly built medical offices, a doggie daycare, restaurants, hotels, an indoor trampoline park and more.
