Nursing students at Norwalk Community College (NCC) can get free ice cream in advance of their final exams, at noon Monday, May 3, according to a press release from the NCC Foundation. The ice cream truck will be at NCC’s West Campus front parking lot off Richards Avenue near the building’s main entrance. The NCC Foundation is sponsoring the treat to salute NCC nursing students ....

Online submissions are now being accepted in an Open Call to Artists for “In the City,” at Rowayton Arts Center (RAC) from May 23, 2021 to June 20, 2021. This new all media show is open to all artists interested in exhibiting their artwork with a nod to the theme of urban life. Deadline is April 23, 2021 and accepted artists will be notified by April 30, 2021.
Visit the RAC website rowaytonarts.org for the prospectus and other information for submitting entries online. The Chair for the show is Bruce Horan and the Co-chair is Joel Flora. The judge for the exhibition is Amy Simon, owner of Amy Simon Fine Art in Westport, CT. ....

The Rowayton Arts Center (RAC) is offering an online lecture by ArtScapades, “Impressionists in the Garden: From Vista to Vase,” Thursday, February 18, 2021 at 7 pm. There is no charge for this event.
ArtScapades will discuss how gardens and flowers played an important role in the periods of French Impressionism and Post-Impressionism as well as American Impressionism. Artists include Claude Monet, Auguste Renoir, Vincent van Gogh and Childe Hassam.
Robin Hoffman and Jodi Stiffelman began ArtScapades in 2009 after teaching art appreciation in the New Canaan public school system in order to share their knowledge with adults who wanted to learn more about art history. ....
