Blackburn Rovers help deliver 300 Eid gift bags with last minute £3,000 donation

Blackburn Rovers and the Rovers Community trust helped Secret Santa meet their goal of delivering several hundred Eid gift bags to disadvantaged children.
The football club helped with a donation of £3,000 which saw the community interest company, which works in partnership with One Voice Blackburn, able to deliver over 311 gift backs in their collaborative Secret Sheikh project.
Managing director of Secret Santa, Phil Boulding said: Our long term friends at Blackburn Rovers and the Rovers Community Trust blew us away with a £3,000 donation.
These two organisations, who themselves do so much with integration support work for the people of Blackburn with Darwen, really are “Premier league” minded! ....

Gas Girls on call to help tackle loneliness during lockdown

Bristol Rovers Women’s players have been making phone calls to the club’s elderly supporters as part of a project to tackle loneliness among football fans.
Members of the Gas Girls squad have been speaking to Gasheads across the city and also making regular trips to their homes, speaking to fans from a safe distance on what are known as ‘garden gate visits’.
The calls and visits are part of the EFL Trust’s Tackling Loneliness Together project, which have enabled clubs and their community departments such as Bristol Rovers Community Trust to reach out to older fans who may be isolating or suffering with loneliness. ....
