A SUPERMARKET has responded after concerns were raised about potentially dangerous trollies in a Flintshire town. The Leader has reported that councillors in Holywell made a vow to act after a concerned resident made her views known about the potential dangers happening near the town centre shops. Ms Roberta Owen penned a letter to Holywell Town Council members telling them that trolleys from the Superstore were being thrown off the nearby railway bridge and posing a safety risk to those using the footpath below. TOWN council members have agreed to act after concerns were raised about shopping trolleys being a potential ‘life-threatening’ danger in their area. Holywell Town Council members met virtually where a concerned resident had brought up the issue of a ‘near miss’ by the town’s Tesco supermarket – and says this isn’t the first time it has happened. Members of the council were informed of the shopping trolleys being ‘dumped’ over the side of a nearby bridge which overlooks one of the pathways into the Greenfield Valley Heritage Park. A letter, penned by resident Roberta Owen, was shared with councillors that recalled an incident involving one of the supermarket’s trolleys that came within a couple of yards of hitting a passer-by. ....
