‘Mr. Disneyland’ and former Disneyland executive dies at 85 [The Orange County Register]
Jan. 2 Ron Dominguez, a Disney legend who grew up on an orange grove ranch that later became part of the Disneyland theme park, has died. He was 85.
Starting in 1955, Dominguez worked taking entry tickets as the Anaheim park first opened. He then quickly moved through the ranks, and in 1990, he was named executive vice president for Walt Disney Attractions for the West Coast. He retired in 1994 and in 2000 he became a Disney Legend. He also was given a window on the theme park’s Main Street.
Getting a window is a significant honor, said Scott Fleener, who was among the first to learn of Dominguez’s passing early Friday, Jan. 1. ....

ANAHEIM (CNS) - Ron Dominguez, a former executive vice president of Walt Disney Attractions whose family sold 10 acres of Anaheim property to Walt Disney that eventually became Disneyland in the 1950s, has died at the age of 85.
Dominguez died Friday, according to the D23 fan newsletter. No further details were released about his death, and no cause was given. Dominguez s family originally owned and lived on the orange grove-covered property that was purchased by Walt Disney for his theme park in 1954.

Ron Dominguez, a former vice president of Disneyland and exec vp of Walt Disney Attractions for the West Coast, died on Jan. 1, according to a post by the Disneyland Alumni Club on Friday. He was 85.
No cause of death was revealed.
Dominguez s family owned 10 acres of land that were purchased by Walt Disney for the construction of Disneyland in 1954. The following year, 20-year-old Dominguez began working at the theme park as a ticket taker during the summer and was trained to supervise numerous attractions. In 1970, he was named director of operations and became vp of Disneyland four years later. ....
