KINGSTON, Jamaica, June 25 (Reuters) - Two-time Olympic Champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, the fastest woman alive, sped to a 10.71 second (wind +1.0 m/s) win in the women s 100m on Friday, the second day of Jamaica s national athletics championships.
With her trademark rocket start, Fraser-Pryce separated from the field at 50 metres and closed out the win to book her ticket to a fourth consecutive Olympic Games in Tokyo next month. ....

On Sunday, Briana Williams promised she would break her one-day-old U20 record today and she delivered with a brand new personal best to win the 100m at the Duval County Challenge in Jacksonville, Florida earlier tonight.
Williams, 19, who set a new national U20 record of 11.01 on Sunday, clocked a new personal best of 10.98, despite a poor start to record her second win in as many days.
Mikiah Brisco finished second in 11.09 with Dezerea Bryant finishing third in 11.14.
Williams had given a hint of what to expect in the preliminary round when she ran 10.97 to win her heat. However, the trailing wind of 2.5m/s prevented that time from being recognized as the Jamaican national U20 record. ....

Jamaica s 19-year- old standout sprinter Briana Williams smashed the 11-second mark in the women s 100m on Monday to break her national junior record (U20) for the second time in two days.
Competing at the Duval County Challenge, a World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze meeting, in Jacksonville, the world under-20 champion completed the opening 40m in an officially timed 4.45 and crossed the line in 10.98, ahead of the USA pair of Mikiah Brisco (11.09) and Dezerea Bryant (11.14).
A day before, Williams broke the record with an 11.01-second clocking at the JAC Summer Open in Jacksonville, Florida to shave 0.01 off her mark set in 2019 at the Great Southwest Classic in Albuquerque, New Mexico. ....

Organisers of next month s World Athletics Relays have been dealt a major blow following the withdrawal of a star-studded Jamaican team due to travel restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Two-time Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah and former 100 metres world record holder Asafa Powell were among a string of stars set to represent Jamaica in Silesia in Poland.
But the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) has confirmed the 39-strong team will not be able to take part at the event, scheduled to run from May 1 to 2.
The JAAA said COVID-19 restrictions had made travelling extremely challenging for the Jamaican athletes and officials, so pulled out. ....
