Jamaica's 19-year- old standout sprinter Briana Williams smashed the 11-second mark in the women's 100m on Monday to break her national junior record (U20) for the second time in two days.
Competing at the Duval County Challenge, a World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze meeting, in Jacksonville, the world under-20 champion completed the opening 40m in an officially timed 4.45 and crossed the line in 10.98, ahead of the USA pair of Mikiah Brisco (11.09) and Dezerea Bryant (11.14).
A day before, Williams broke the record with an 11.01-second clocking at the JAC Summer Open in Jacksonville, Florida to shave 0.01 off her mark set in 2019 at the Great Southwest Classic in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
