The delegation, which consisted of European Commission Pacific delegation head Frans Baan, British High Commissioner Michael Price (representing the current Chair country of Europe) and French Ambassador Jean-Pierre Vidon, called on the State House and was received by Fiji s Vice President Ratu Jope Seniloli. ....

Picture: JONACANI LALAKOBAU People living along the Kings Rd say they have been facing water cuts since Thursday and were frustrated because water trucks failed to show up in their area. Homes located in areas from the Wainibuku junction to the Rewa Bridge say the water cuts came without any warning. Nasinu resident Esiteri Daucakacaka said they had not seen any water carting truck from Thursday afternoon. “The water cut came as a surprise so we were not prepared and we didn’t have water stored to use for two days,” Ms Daucakacaka said. ....

People living in Nakasi and nearby communities have been facing water cuts for two days because of a valve failure. According to the Water Authority of Fiji, due to the valve failure, areas from the Kings Rd from Wainibuku junction right to the Rewa Bridge in Nausori would face water disruptions. “Our teams are working on fixing the issue and we apologise for the inconvenience caused,” WAF said. The authority also thanked the public for their patience and understanding and has urged the public to use water wisely. ....

Some people living in the area have contacted us and raised concerns that they have been facing water disruptions since Wednesday morning and were not given any notice. The Water Authority of Fiji says the disruption is due to a malfunctioned gate valve situated at the Wainibuku Junction. ....
