WXXV News 25 July 27, 2021 In 2019, What’s Your Stitch was opened to fulfill Rachel Bishop’s passion for all things quilting, but she never expected what the next year would bring and how her business would change. When the pandemic hit, Bishop had to focus on keeping her business running. Wanting to make a difference in her community, Bishop reached out to her customers on Facebook to organize a sewing effort that led to donating more than 1,000 fabric masks for local medically fragile residents in the early days of the pandemic. Now, Bishop has found another way to give back to the community. She recently began a monthly event called Charity Quilting where she provides all of the fabric and supplies and customers sew quilts that will be donated to comfort kids in the local CASA program. “I decided that CASA would be a good place to donate our childrens quilts because they are staying here within our community, here in Harrison and Stone counties. Online registration is open for this virtual fundraising event that takes place May 10-21. Participants can engage at their own pace and choose their own outdoor activity from walking or running to hiking or biking.
