After more than three decades with the Rehoboth Beach Patrol, the last 21 as captain, Kent Buckson has resigned.
Rehoboth Beach Mayor Stan Mills confirmed Buckson’s resignation and said his departure was solely his decision.
“Kent Buckson submitted his resignation as captain of the Rehoboth Beach Patrol Dec. 18, effective immediately,” said Mills, in an email Dec. 20. “Kent indicated that he has served on the RBP for 34 years. I accepted his resignation and thanked him for his years of service to the city.”
Buckson’s resignation comes on the heels of his filing an appeal with city commissioners Oct. 27, questioning City Manager Sharon Lynn’s ability to delegate her responsibility for one department to another department. ....
