Commissioner Ruth Jeno said she was disturbed after seeing a video of the meeting and said she believes it may have led to Red Bank getting turned down on a $1,350,000 state grant that would have funded a sidewalk from Signal Mountain Road to the Stringer s Ridge Tunnel as well as a traffic light at Ashmore Avenue. ....

At the commission meeting Thursday night, despite repeated attempts by the mayor and vice mayor to alter the proposal, the vote was to accept it as written. The original contract between the city and Mr. Thornbury was entered into on Nov. 6, 2018 when the responsibilities of the city manager were added to his existing position as director of the public works department and building inspector. ....
