Flooding in Sankey Bridges last month BURGLARS have targeted another house which was left devastated by flooding from Storm Christoph. A break-in was reported at an address on Rostherne Close in Sankey Bridges at around 6.30am on Saturday, January 30. Members of the public reportedly caught the suspect red-handed, with police having arrested a 40-year-old man at the scene. Sebastian Sarota, of no fixed address, has since been charged with theft in relation to the incident. He is due to appear before Warrington Magistrates Court in order to face this charge later today, Monday. A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At 6.30am on Saturday, January 30, police were called to reports of a burglary at an address on Rostherne Close. ....

Flooding on nearby Evelyn Street last week BURGLARS have broken into a house that was evacuated due to flooding. The property on Rostherne Close in Sankey Bridges was targeted at some point between 5pm on Sunday, January 24, and 10am on Monday, January 25. After forcing entry to the address, the offenders stole a number of items from inside. Cheshire Police are appealing for information from members of the public over the incident. Police constable Rebecca Jubb said: “To target a house which has been evacuated due to flooding is simply despicable, and we are committed to doing all we can to identify the people responsible. ....

Sometime between 5pm on Sunday, January 24, and 10am on Monday, January 25, someone forced entry into a house on Rostherne Close in Sankey, Warrington. Once inside they searched the address and stole a number of items.
