SCARBOROUGH – Agnes Ann Walsh, 100, passed away at her residence at Piper Shores in Scarborough on June 30, 2021. She was born in Portland on August 6, 1920, as the only child of John Randall and Agnes Annie Gough Walsh.
She was educated in South Portland schools and graduated from South Portland High School in 1937. She ventured north to Orono and the University of Maine. She graduated in the great Class of 1941 with a degree in Latin. While at the University of Maine she immersed herself in many activities including the Delta Delta Delta sorority, Debating Team, Language Club, student publications, and field hockey. She was a member of the select group of Sophomore Eagles, a student organization that promotes the customs and traditions of the university. The spirit of the Eagles mission neve ....

Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Cllr Brian Tierney, congratulated the cricketers involved in the Pedal 4 Patto campaign yesterday at the Guildhall.
The campaign was started to raise funds for Andy Patterson, a former cricketer who was diagnosed with Spastic Paraplegia in March of 2013. A group of Andy s friends came together and decided to cycle around every cricket club in the Northern Cricket Union in 24 hours to raise funds to allow Andy to make much needed renovations to his home in order to provide as much of a sense of normality in the future as possible for him.  ....

Space has opened up in out-of-town retail parks – and shoppers feel more comfortable there. So food retailers are moving in. But will the trend last?
It wasn’t just the high street: in recent years, out-of-town retail has been in a sorry state. Retail park stalwarts like Carpetright, New Look and Homebase were forced into company voluntary arrangements (CVAs) to survive, while Toys R Us and Maplin plunged into administration.
Even before Covid-19, retail park developments were grinding to a halt, down 15 to 20% year on year, according to a 2019 Cushman & Wakefield report, despite “little evidence of over-supply”. ....
